our food philosophy
We believe that to achieve fantastic tasting food you only have to look on your doorstep. So with that in mind we have chosen to source our ingredients from local, regional suppliers who share the same passion for quality as we do.
Our butchers source all their meat from farms in East Anglia where they are naturally reared and traditionally butchered. We like the fact that their meats are not treated with additives, growth enhancers or antibiotics. We are very proud to be associated with Ludham Butchers, offering rare breed meats, as one of our butchers. We have known these butchers for some years and can rely on them.
fresh & local ingredients
Among the meats we offer:
Our beef is dry aged and hung for a minimum of 30 days
Our pork is rare breed Gloucester Old Spot, Berkshire, and Dingley Dell
Our chickens are barn reared, our eggs are free range
Our lamb is truly English reared on meadow grassland
Our fishmongers supply us with some of the best fish and shellfish from the region including: River Deben Mussels, Dressed Cromer Crabs, Norfolk Lobsters and sustainably caught fresh fish.
Our old friend Simon at Procters in Ipswich provides an excellent selection of sausages, all of which are gluten free.
